More bloody car troubles.  The throttle cable snapped yesterday.

Luckily I was in one of the few mobile-signal-hotspots on that road, so I called the RAC, then The Husband (who was at work doing overtime) and then My Sister, who can always be relied upon to cheer me up when I ring her and say things like "I only came out to get something ( Read more... )

Ooh, throttle-cable-bodge-job, I've done one of those! I'm immensely proud about it too, cos my throttle cable went, and you'll never guess what! *bounces with the pride* I fixed the cable myself! Well not on the spot, I did the bodge job myself, directed over the phone by my bro... *g* But then to fix it you just kind of have to thread it through the right bits and hook it on at either end... Which is sort of scary, now that I think about it... *g* (Also, you watch - my throttle cable'll go tomorrow, and I won't be able to fix it in this car... *hugs woods and trees and licks windowsill for good measure*)

But yeay writing? *g*

I've done one of those!

Really? ::is very impressed:: I'm distressingly crap at anything car-maintenance-related, except checking oil, coolant, tyre pressure etc. I've never even changed a tyre, even though I've had about five punctures since moving to Wales.

Well, no, you're probably right. *g*

But I would expect that 20 year old children are slightly less hassle than 20 year old cars.

... or maybe not ...
