ISHIDA Ikue, a new-to-me mangaka!

Well this is embarrassing:  it seems to be my common refrain: “It’s been a while since I’ve posted”. I am simply gonna have to get myself organized. (oh wait, it's supposed to be, "I'm simply gonna have to make myself get organized").

Today I wanted to talk about a mangaka I’ve recently discovered: ISHIDA Ikue. I haven’t read very much by her, but ( Read more... )

Nice to read your suggestions and discover new things because ISHIDA Ikue is new to me too.
I checked out her works on emanga and I'm not very actracted by her style but since you are so enthusiastic about her and dialogs are very important to me too I'll give her works a try (as soon as I finish last Ian Rankin book) ^_^

Thanks for your comments! Yes, at first I also was kinda not very attracted to the art style. But as I got into the story, the art bothered me less and less. Kinda like FUJISAKI Kou - when I was first introduced to her work, the art was so strange - the men were so angular. But someone I know recommended FUJISAKI Kou, so I started to read her works. I soon got interested in the storyline, and now I look forward to anything I can get ( ... )

You defintely get the idea about the graphic part! But I won't be discouraged by it ... I promise ^_^
At the moment I'm reading Kinoshita Keiko works I'm desperate because I can't find the end of the last volume of Ikusen no Yoru translated in english ... the series of the Thousand Nights.
If you'd like to read something the last four Ian Rankin books are what I suggest:
"the complaints" (Malcom Fox novel)
"the impossible dead" (Malcom Fox novel)
"Standing in another man's grave" (Rebus - Malcom Fox cameo)
and in the end the one I'm reading now
"Saints of the shadow Bible" (Rebus and Malcom Fox)
I really love the way he write ♥

ohhh, thanks for these suggestions! I've not read his last several books, so I'm looking forward to reading these! Yes, he does have a really cool way of phrasing things, doesn't he?

Forgot to say, yes I also am desperate to read the last volume of Thousand Nights. I love KINOSHITA Keiko - her stories are so well-developed and her characters are always interesting.
