A good yoga teacher should show you modifications so that you can hold each pose comfortably. Maybe see if you can find a class that uses props? Something like yin yoga, or a beginners Iyengar class.

This yoga teacher had back problems herself, so she wasn't even demonstrating some of the stuff. :\ Props would probably help, at least for poses where my hands don't touch the ground so I can't support my weight on them. Some of it's just being too out of shape to hold my arms up for that long though. :(

There's a hatha yoga class, but not much else offered at my rec center, so I might put yoga off until I get a bit fitter or I move.

What about if you bought some DVDs? That's how I got into it and a lot of them have modifications with props now. I could give you a list of good ones, if you'd like. :)
