I don't remember any overly long sections regarding game play, in fact that was one of the things I liked about this story. If I remember right the game sections tended to be a single sentence to just a paragraph or two and were more about things that happened in games that referred back to various wagers and setting up later interaction between the two main characters.

I think. I just spent the whole day reading it and now a rereading choice bits and wallowing in it all over again. I'm completely gutted. to What an amazing story!
I've never heard of hockey RPS and I freaking LOVED it. And no, you don't need to know hockey to enjoy it. It's the characterizations that won me over. I'm a Canadian so I know Sidney Crosby won the gold medal but that's about it.
Gahhh. I'm a complete sucker for angst with a happy ending and this one was perfection. Thanks again.

I had exactly the same amount of knowledge as you about hockey, and for the same reasons!!
Very cute fic! I never ever thought I'd read a RPS fic about hockey!
But I did, and it was wonderful!!

I didn't either, but I'm with you, and I'm so glad I did! :-)

I've spent the last few days off and on searching out more fic in the hockey fandom and I definitely have a few more bookmarked on my to-read list. :-)

I love hockey but I don't really follow it now so it would have too be good writing for me to be drawn into it.
Having said that, my first thoughts of slash were making up stories about Mark Messier and other Oilers before I even knew slash existed. So the idea of passionate, inarticulate hockey players falling for each other is, I think, part of my genetic make up.

I didn't know a thing in the world about hockey before reading this, but loved this fic so much! It was definitely the characterisations and relationships that won me over. I'm normally weary of overly preachy fic, but what a powerful coming out sequence as well...
One of my favourite fics ever, I think. And now, to read it again... I think so!!

Thanks again for the rec, I normally don't read RPF, this is the only the second RPF fic I've really liked.

Oh, and that coming out sequence? Yeah, that was the cherry on top of the sundae wasn't it? :-)
