Oooh, this sounds fascinating! I want to read it, but I am paranoid about spoilers for One Piece. Can you tell me what manga volume or story arc this fic is set in? I've read through vol 22, which is toward the end of the Alabasta arc. *hopes that's enough canon to be able to read the fic right away*

Hmm, I *think* that's enough canon. The author says that the story is set post-Alabasta, and in her/his words "the only Grand Line spoilers are the names of the new crewmates". So, I would say that you were all set - go for it!
