Sadly, no; some traditions were attenuated during immigration and assimilation.

We're Sicilian we call them zeppoli, but yeah, they're yummy.

Apparently, the final letter on zeppol[e|i] is a north-south thing. I learned -e, and my family is Neapolitan. Go figure.
