Just watched the live feed of the space shuttle launch on C-SPAN. They afterwards they immediatly cut Ellen Ratner talking about whether dissent is patriotic. How the founding fathers were radicals and such... and how there should be a Flag Amendment that says all US flags are to be made in the USA. Funny.

See, I find it so amusing how people get so obsessed with everything being made here and closing the borders type of mentality. These folks seem to forget the reason we were given the Statue of Liberty as a gift or that our country was not founded strictly by the people living here.

I think Ellen was making a circular argument regarding the recent attempt to amend the constitution and ban flag burning. Poking fun at the idea that flag burning might be considered inappropriate and unpatriotic, but outsourcing it's manufacture is just good business.
