I need to start playing around more with GarageBand 3...I have been spending some time in Logic Express lately though.
A new feature of GB 3, podcasting, has me thinking about a possibility. I thought that I'd run this by you and get your feedback first.
The idea of doing a monthly 15-20 minute audio podcast of local music acts (interviews, song snippets, etc.) is something that I have been thinking about for the past few weeks. I think it is a doable idea, and with a creative team behind it, the project can sustain itself for at least few years.
I think that a podcast of good quality local acts has a potential to reach a good number of audience and potential fans.

I think it's a great idea. Podcasting is a very exciting opportunity. It's like community radio (or tv) on steriods.
15-20 minutes is cool. Long enough to have some real content and short enough to watch on a lunchbreak.
I've been thinking a lot about video podcasting. With video, I'd also make each episode available on youtube and myspace and such. A good youtube video can get thousands and thousands of hits.
Jess and I put together a hour long community tv show a while back, and it was a crapload of work. Audio would be a lot easier. you could probably even have people e-mail you mp3s....
