I have an SV fan fiction question

I've read so many SV fics in the last few years and there seems to be a reccuring theme that Clark radiates heat. I don't recall it mentioned in Smallville or any of the other Superman based shows I've seen. I just wondered if this is a "fic thing" or is there some basis for it in comics

Well, I think the idea that he radiates heat comes from the heat vision. We never see him sweat except when he's sick or exposed to green K, so I figure heat vision is one way he gets rid of excess heat. I don't see how he could generate his heat vision unless he ran a little hotter than humans do. I'm not sure what the comics have to say on the subject.

Also, there have been a couple of episodes that suggested he already had telescopic vision ("Bound" and "Slumber"), but I don't think the show's really established it one way or the other. In the comics, I'm prety sure he can.
