Gakked from sevvy_o.

* Step 1: Put your playlist on random.
* Step 2: Post the first line from the first 10 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing.
* Step 3: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly.

I did the same thing she did and did 20 just for fun, and also took out instrumentals and showtunes.

1) The Who, 'Pinball Wizard' (although your version might be the movie soundtrack one with Elton John)
9) Savage Garden, 'Crash and Burn' (my wife is actually playing it at this very second - how's that for coincidence?)
13) The Eagles, 'Life in the Fast Lane'
16) Nirvana, 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'
17) U2, 'Desire'

Right on all of them! (And don't tell your wife, but that song was one of the ones I cringed at including, lol, but it said "no matter how embarrassing.")

You cringed at 'Crash and Burn'? Why? It's a total classic! Far better than, for instance, 'Desire', which was a massive disappointment to me, when it came out, after the really good stuff that U2 had done on 'The Unforgettable Fire' and 'The Joshua Tree'.

I went through my Savage Garden phase in middle school, so I tend to think of it as kind of juvenile (although "Crash and Burn" is definitely less cringe-worthy than some of their other songs).

Random fun fact: To this day, I still associate their first album with Stephen King's "The Stand," because I listened to it on repeat while reading during a really long car ride.

Yep! A lot of the classics come from my parents - they're big Eagles fans, Van Morrison, Billy Joel, Chicago, the Beatles... so that's what I grew up listening to. When I moved out of the house, my mom and I fought over divvying up our CDs (but now she has all of them, because I have an iPod).

lol... all hail the iPod! My tastes as a teen were based primarily on what would annoy my parents the most. Fortunately, I outgrew that, but even as I matured I went in a wildly different direction. My chickens are coming home to roost, however, now that my daughter is making her own decisions about music.

LOL! I picked up some tastes from my friends or the radio (which was a lot of Green Day, Cranberries, Nirvana, etc.) but I was never a big CD buyer, so I listened to whatever my parents had at home, and then went on an enormous downloading spree as soon as I went to college and got my own computer. :)

There was that Backstreet Boys phase that I'm sure my parents hated, but at least I never wallpapered my bedroom with posters of them like my friend Megan did!
