Dru's torture was vivid and ghastly. What is she hoping to achieve? She's not going to burn Buffy from Spike's thoughts with beatings and holy water baths. She's just going to alienate him more. Poor, battered boy. Buffy can't help but be even more sympathetic toward a tortured Spike. Heck, even Xander might find a little compassion for him.

Well, like Spike says, "I'll find her, tie her up, torture her until she likes me again." Maybe that's Dru's plan... or maybe she's finally just given up on him, and wants to punish him.
