Lost season 2

Aug 23, 2010 19:35

And here we go again! Since I spent most of the weekend doing nothing but be sick and watch TV (with occasional time-outs to let my cat spew medicine at me), I've made quite a bit of progress on Lost. I also finished season 2 of Six Feet Under, so maybe I should collect some thoughts on that? We'll see.

Anyway, discussion up to episode 10 under the ( Read more... )

This so closely resembles my thoughts at that point in the series it's scary...

--Oh, button angst. I'm sorry to say, it isn't over forever yet...

-- I don't really have any thoughts on Desmond yet (I don't remember who, but somebody liked him, right?). So far, all he's done is freak out and then run away, but I'm assuming he comes back at some point.Me! I'm the one who loves Desmond! He does come back, and is all kinda of awesome. He's my favorite. (My love of Desmond is borderline as irrational as my love of Spike; by the end of the series he was kind of the only character I still cared about, because I was so overwhelmed by the crazy plot lines). But yeah, looking back, he doesn't do much in S2, other than show up and have an awesomesauce flashback (for me, Desmond is like the anti-Jack: his flashback episodes tend to be some of the best ever, IMO ( ... )

Wow, I am now eager to see what inspires Spike-levels of irrational love, lol. I'm also happy to hear that hating Ana Lucia was a common reaction. I was all worried that I'd be like OMG I WANT HER TO DIE and everyone else would be all, "WHAT NO SHE'S AWESOME!" :-p

I hope he doesn't disappoint! He inspires my irrational love for entirely different reasons than Spike (well, except one, but I won't go until after you see his first flashback), so I have no idea how you'll react. He tends to be popular though, and, unlike Sawyer, I'd be surprised if you ended disliking him to any large extent, because he's not a raging asshole :P (Indeed, Desmond's probably the only character who inspires this kind of love in me who is not at least a bit of an asshole...).

Lol, nope. She is one of the most universally-hated characters I've seen in any canon, actually. Like, Lana Lang level of hate...

Wow, that's impressive. I mean, I hate Lana Lang, and I've never even watched Smallville!

Heh. Pretty much everyone.

Aw. It makes me sad that you hate Sawyer so. :(

Ana Lucia hate I'm a-okay with, however! Heh.

Yes! *Is sad she doesn't like Sawyer, too, because he's like Tim Riggens with confidence games instead of football as game of choice. Will be very sad if Sawyer doesn't grow on Eowyn by season 5.*

(again using random icons because all of mine are kinda spoilery)

Heh, see my reply to shipperx. Season 5 is a long way away, so there's time...

Tim Riggins love! Hot, sexy... jailbait. LOL!

I no longer have my Tim Riggin's icon so Matt Saracen will have to do.

Ana Lucia is boring and angry and not much fun.

Charlie has issues, but he's still loveable.

Kate has issues, but she kinda isn't.

Jack could be the first non-vampire in my personal prison of irrational loathing because of his hero complex.

I heart Sawyer, and I'm sad you don't.

I heart Desmond, and so can you!

And after season 3, any time you see Rose and Bernard in an episode completely raises the episode's squeeage level.

I love this crazy, fucked up show, in spite of all its flaws.

LOL, I am neutral on Kate at this point, but I can definitely see the potential for her to tip totally into "do not want" category. I actually am okay with Jack, too, lol, so I am probably driving you nuts with my backwards character opinions. :)

I do give Lost credit for resolving the never-ending-triangle in a way that's satisfying and dignified for all the characters.
