More movie reviews

I watched several movies over the weekend - unfortunately, none of them were all that great. I've been on a kind of indie/low-budget kick lately, but even though I keep going for movies with actors I like, I don't seem to have much luck.

Spoilers for Dare, Up, Deepwater, and Shades of Ray. It's okay, you probably won't want to see them anyway. )

Sounds like four movies I don't really need to see.

And really weird that they cast Zachari Levi as a half Pakistani. I love him, but that just doesn't fit and that probably makes the whole film feel off from the get go.

It was bizarre. The only thing I could think of is that maybe they didn't know what he looked like and they thought he was Jewish.

I didn't read any of this except for Up!, but I largely agree: that movie is so worth it to me because of the montage at the beginning which I think is one of the most perfect things I've ever seen in my life. The rest of the movie is silly in the extreme.

DO IT!

I have three Ainsley icons. And one Sam/Ainsley one. And probably more coming. It's a sickness.

Those are some weird random movies you're watching!!

I love the first bit in Up but then the balloons and the talking dogs and the evil OLD explorator dude was just too much. Don't think my kids liked it much either. I'm glad I didn't pay to watch it.

*whispers* I got S2 of VM at the video store last night (half price on box sets on Monday & Tuesday) and I'm putting it on my computer.

Yeah, it was just... IDEK. I need a better method of choosing movies. Ah, well, at least I started S3 of Dexter last night.

I haven't watched Up yet; it didn't entice me to run right out and see it. That said, Pixar movies are about every other one for me. I don't think all of them are gold.

I loved both Toy Stories, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, and The Incredibles. A Bug's Life and Ratatouille were just okay. The others I haven't seen, although WALL-E is in the queue. So I've liked most of them, enough to be surprised at such a clunker.

Oh Monsters Inc. I LOVE that one. Aidan is watching Toy Story 2 at the moment (can't find the tape of Toy Story, box is empty).

Wall-E is sweet.

My 6yo is loving Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs at the moment, but that's not a Pixar movie...
