I was bitching with talking to goldenusagi about how often we see really crappy fics getting rave reviews and being recced all over the place, and how we just can't help but look at it and go, "How? What? How?" And I'm never quite sure if these fics are so popular because people don't care that they're bad, as long as it pushes their buttons, or if they ( Read more... )

Oh, I was referring to the other slavery that I just sold her into last night. I set a cunning trap with strawberry daiquiris. :) You'll have to find yourself a new slave, I suppose, but you can take pride in knowing that your training and discipline helped her fetch a good price.

Thanks for the rec! I love it when people whose judgement I trust rec fics; I'm off to read this one right now for the giggle. I am USELESS at reccing fics; I read one, I love it, I should make a note because ten minutes later, I've forgotten where I read it, what it was called and who it was by. The number of times I've gone to somebody 'oh, you know - the one where Spike's a penguin/vampire/shopkeeper etc etc' and they have no clue what I'm on about. Shocking. I must do something about it. In the meantime, I thank you!

Heh, Emmie just pointed out that by doing recs, I will have a list in my journal of fics I liked that I can refer back to... helpful to me AND a service to the community, lol!

Perfect maiden rec. When I rec things, they are almost always "brilliantly hilarious". I keep saving 'em up for buffyversetop5 but maybe striking while the iron is hot (and hilarious) is the way to go.

Word to the wise: anything by deird1 is likely to fit the bill.

LOL, I always mean to do a Top 5 post, but can never remember enough fics to make a list. Maybe this will help me keep track of them.
