This story has been haunting me since I finished it last night and I suspect it will keep haunting me for some time. The characters give so little and so much of themselves away here. Gary's backstory was very well rendered and Jim's role in Gary's life as the only thing that can capture and hold Gary's attention is very compelling. That Jim is the only person he really needs to come to him of his own fully free will is powerful when Gary can be so cavalier about affecting anyone else

after all these years these stories are still outstanding, i'd say!
your writing's so sharp and i love the characters, which are entirely their own men, very different from fanon. and totally hot, of course.

the new film is around the corner, here's hoping that it may inspire more of your K/M/G...
