Also, they're totally not related to "mom jeans" except for being high-waisted. "Mom jeans" are relaxed fit with a waist that sits at the natural waistline, are worn fully buttoned/zipped, and do not evolve with fashion. The foldover jeans are obviously MEANT to be folded over - the placement of the buttons on the folded-over section is the giveaway - and are a product of fashion evolution.

And now I have thought way too much about clothes I have never worn.
