I do pretty well with the "can't pronounce it, don't eat it!" rule.
Also scary chemicals do scary things to my body.
Real food, cooked in real ways, in moderation, seems to be a good, but mightily expensive food plan around here.

Baby steps are a wonderful way to go. Get one habit down, then work on the next. My food journey has taken me 12 years of evolution to this point. It's a lifetime journey with highs and lows, steps forward and steps back and more steps forward.

The more local and seasonal the foods are, the less is needed to make them taste good. Simple let's them shine.

Thought of you this morning when I was reading the ingredient list on the pretzels. Do you want a jar of onion conserve?

I don't control much but I always try to figure out if I'm mouth-hungry or stomach-hungry. I think that will make sense to you.

It does make perfect sense. I have some sense of who you eat WITH, what you eat and why you eat, and it's MUCH healthier than my environment on all counts. I think you're surrounded by much healthier eaters than my family is. Not to be insulting, but you're kind of the lowest common denominator in your eating crowd. I'm at the top of the heap in my house and that's not saying much.
