I am quite excited about English this term, as it seems that my professor is keen on teaching something, if his reading materials are anything to judge by. The first essay that we're reading on literary theory - "A fortunate fall?" makes me wonder why they're teaching theory second, analysis first. :'( I can't help but to think that first term ( Read more... )

Are you taking ENGL 121? Who's your prof? And yeah, it felt kind of weird to me too to be able to go through 121 and go "oh, so THAT'S what Floyd was going ON AND ON about last term" =P (Floyd was an unbelievably horrible TA Amelia and I put up with for two terms).

Which philosophy class and which prof? Can you sense a theme to my questioning? And just to continue - which math prof? Sounds like my 101 prof, except I seem to remember that you're not taking 121.

XD Yep, English 121, with Miguel Mota. My TA was pretty good for 120.

Philosophy 100, with Andrew Irvine term 1, and Joanna Fischer for term 2. (I've probably horribly misspelled her name.)

As for math, I'm taking it with Gupta. x)

I KNEW it was Gupta =D

He's an awesome prof. He's tough, and you have to fight for marks in his class, but he really is fantastic and it's possible to learn a lot from his class if you do the work. (I'm sort of a broken record, aren't I? My work ethic for first year sort of amazes me, looking back =P). But yea, profs I like a lot of people don't because they seem to be hard or unfair or unsympathetic or too complex/don't explain things well enough, so I'm not a great source.
