[Nezumi actually hadn't been sleeping much at all so that was the only reason why he hadn't felt the touches on his neck. Plus, unfortunately when it came to Sion, he was used to it.
But hearing his name causes him to wake up and immediately push Sion to the bed and his hands around his neck without much thought, purely instinct. It's with crushing force, enough to stop the person from breathing, but as soon as he sees who it is, he let's go of his neck.]
What the hell are you doing here? [HE LEFT THIS IDIOT.]
[He almost expected this claim. The last time Sion had taken it out on him, though his claim had been more true. It's natural to blame someoneand the acc] I'm not that sick. I wouldn't go lying about your friend dying. It happened.
[He doesn't say anything else, waiting to see how he reacts. Sion had always been good at surprising him. He's almost expecting to be jumped at.]
[If his body would obey his brain's orders, then he would have jumped at Nezumi, punched him, something for letting something like this happen--but he can't. He stays exactly where he is, nails creating purple marks in his palms and trembling just slightly.
His mouth opens slightly as if he's about to speak--or rather yell at him--but he closes his mouth again, lips pressed firmly together. What can he say? Can he really blame Nezumi for what happened, put all of it on his shoulders without knowing what happened? He doesn't even know what led up to it. Maybe it was himself who caused a problem--who made things turn out the way they did.]
Why couldn't we.. [The words get stuck in his throat, so he swallows then takes a deep breath] Why couldn't we save her... ?
[Nezumi watches his hands, seeing how obviously upset he is by this. He can understand. That feeling of helplessness, knowing there was nothing you could have done. Except Sion hasn't even gone through it. Nezumi isn't really sure how he can get through this, try to move through his grief.
Yet he doesn't doubt Sion can do it.]
No.6 took her. The Correctional Facility was one big cover-up. It was just a place to do experiments on people. You know how they wanted to use you? Yeah, Safu was just the same. I'm not sure what they did, she didn't tell us, but she didn't even exist anymore. What we saw was an image, something she used Mother's power for. They connected her to it, wanting to get power. That's all they've ever been after. Power.
I've thought about it. She said Elyurias--[He remembers, Sion doesn't remember that. He sighs, this time on purpose.] Shit, you don't know a thing about Elyurias either. Long story short: giant bee god. She has a lot of power, No.6 wanted it, and took advantage of a lot to get to it. Safu included
( ... )
[A place to experiment on people, Safu didn't exist anymore, Elyurias, she was gone. That's the gist of all Sion is able to really catch out Nezumi's explanation. It all almost seems too much to take in--and yet it doesn't. He gets it, Safu is dead, there was nothing they could do but he still doesn't want to accept that...
Sion lets his gaze fall from the other and to the floor. He stumbles back, his legs bumping into the edge of the bed which makes him fall on his butt back on the bed. Fingers run through his white hair, hand resting at the top of his head. He wants to cry, his eyes sting like he's about to cry but no tears have formed to blur his vision. Even his throat hurts, it's dry, he wouldn't be able to get a word out if he tried]
[He wouldn't blame him if he does cry. Someone like Sion wasn't used to loss and he could remember when Sion had gone through it. How upset and angry he'd been. The only reason why he'd gotten past it so quickly was because their life had been in danger. It was easy to push past grief when you were busy.
He's silent for a moment until he speaks again. Sion wanted the whole story.]
Your cute little dream about breaking the wall came true. No.6 crumbled and your dear mama is okay. You're basically in charge of rebuilding everything. I heard you were doing fine.
[He takes another moment to wonder how to explain himself leaving. Sion had been upset at that too. Nezumi sometimes remembered what Sion said, though he tried hard not to think about Sion.] I left.
[In that moment of silence, Sion's vision begins to blur up as tears well up in his eyes, but they stop in their tracks the second Nezumi starts talking again. It even almost feels like a small smile is tugging at his lips, which there probably is one.
This is good. This is really good... kinda. Safu died but... he was able to break the wall down and he got to see his mother again. Inwardly, he isn't sure if this balances out everything, it doesn't feel like it does. It's all confusing to be honest. But at Nezumi's last statement, he forgets about all of that, even if it's just for a second, and almost jumps a little. His gaze slowly moves back to Nezumi, rather shocked]
... You what? [Why would Nezumi just leave? After they worked so hard to stay together... ]
[He was expecting that shock and he had been expecting Sion to question it.] You heard me. I left.
[Nezumi looks at him, waiting to see what else he has to say about this. He expects questions and Sion being himself. He'd just had a lot thrown at him and Sion had always been an emotional guy.]
... Why? [Is all Sion can spout out at this point. All of this is just too much on him. He wants to ask more, really he does, but his mouth doesn't seem to be cooperating as much as he'd like it to be. But why is always a good way to start.
So he just sits there, still half in shock, staring at Nezumi and waiting for an answer]
I wanted to go. I needed change. [Was that part of it? Definitely. But there was a lot more to it than that and he doesn't even feel ready for Sion to know everything. He doesn't feel ready to see Sion either, but here he is and against better judgement he'll let him stay. Sion has always been good at making Nezumi do things he wouldn't usually do.]
Change? But... I thought we were able to break down the wall! [He doesn't fully get why Nezumi would want to leave for such a thing when they had already accomplished something so life changing.
Did he do something wrong?
Did he upset Nezumi and not know it?
He bites his lip then swallows before speaking up again] Did you ever plan on coming back... ?
[That hadn't been his wish, Sion. It was a pleasant surprise and Nezumi was happy it happened, but too much had happened. He'd been craving for revenge against No.6 for such a long time, but it came and went. What was he left with? Nothing. All he had was a realization that he wasn't sure what he wanted to do with his life and a lot of things he had to learn about himself.
And about Sion. He sighs and then scowls, feeling irritated.] Yes, I said I would.
[Once he says that, Sion lets himself relax a bit. It's nice to know that Nezumi planned to come back but he's still pretty upset with the fact that he does leave, so the frown just stays on his face.]
[He knows it does to Sion and really, he can't answer that question. He wasn't sure when he'd come back himself or when he'd feel ready. There were a lot of things he wasn't sure of and Sion was one of them.]
[Nezumi glares at him and stands up.] You still have that annoying knack of asking too many questions. You know what has to be known. That's all I'm telling you.
[He goes to his door and opens it, ushering Sion to leave.]
It's the same as always. You want to stay here, that's fine. There's another room here, you can have that if you want or you can live somewhere else. But otherwise? Be a good boy and stay to yourself. There's a guide about this place so read that.
