It's interesting that Sara seems to be a seasoned black-ops-killer-agent-whatever, but she gets her references from pop culture. Wouldn't she have seen all these things already on her training and field experience? I may be way off, since I don't know her backstory.
from what my brain is telling me (its not completely sret, but its getting there) Saras bounced from being a sixteen year old drug courier from russians, smalltime bouncing/security and then finally running a security business. (like body guarding and and looking after property and stuff - im not really sure on the exacts as i am lazy and need to play research some more) Later she'll go solo and do pretty much whatever someone pays her to do, but thats another story. But yeah, she has no real training, besides life!experience and the occasional security course. (ive decided to wrie her like that because its something i can relate to a lot easier than someone whose professional and very self assured.) ^^ hope that somewhat clears it up. (but yeah, pop culture references are so my fault, i am so immersed in tv/movies/books&the like that i find it really hard to seperate from it) :D
