Mirror!Spencer wasn't exactly thrilled to learn she was to be involved in the chess game - she was sure her real would have loved it, but she most definitely was not her real.

Still, she knew better than to mess with Queen's orders so she was at the board promptly and on time. And smug about the fact that at least she wasn't a stupid pawn. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad after all.

The first moves, as anticipated, were relatively uneventful. She dutifully moved when asked but otherwise wasn't paying as much attention to the game as she might be. That was, until she noticed one of the reals move into her line of movement. Someone her real had spoken to on occasion and seemed to hold in some regard. Which would make his capture all the more delicious.

She strode to G4, flashing her opponent a determined smile. "You're in my space."

Oh, that's cute. A teenage girl strutting over into his spot. Too bad Dean doesn't know the mechanics of chess, or he would know that capture by a Bishop is sort of inevitable for a Knight.

He may also be a bit cocky from his last encounter with a member of the White Team, and that never bodes well.

Then Dean squints at the teenage girl and realizes that it's Spencer. He knows Spencer. He hasn't seen her in a while, sure, but- wait, no. Mirrors. Right. No mercy.

"Oh, that's real funny, sweetheart," he quirks a crooked smile, fingers wrapped tightly around the handle of his knife. There's no telling what she could come at him with.

"You're gonna hafta make me leave."

M!Spencer gave a wicked smile at the flash of recognition on his face. Perhaps he thought, based on her real, that this would be an easy defeat - but he hadn't counted on the Hastings determination that the mirror still shared.

Her gaze flickers down to the knife before she turns back to him. "Oh sweetie, that's not going to do you any good."

As she finished speaking, she moved to try to kick Dean in the shin. She wasn't trained by any means, which meant she would have to fight a little dirty. Luckily, this Spencer had absolutely no problem with that.

This is a man who fights demons. He's not going to go down that easily. Dean moves to the side as she kicks out, grabbing at her leg and pulling her to the ground. Then he-

Wait.

What.

It's like...it's like he's frozen. Not as though he can't move, but he can't...quite...lean down to hit the butt of his knife against her head.

Something is stopping him. Why is it stopping him? Dean tries a different tactic, dropping the knife and taking a step back.

Even with her hands free to absorb the brunt of the fall's impact, M!Spencer takes a moment to recover from the shock. As she waits for his next move she shifts to more of a crouching position soas to better defend.

Then, of course, he freezes.

M!Spencer smirks a little, lunging for the knife that was just dropped. She hadn't planned on being armed but she wasn't going to turn down a chance to even the odds - or rather, even them to be in her favour.

Okay, no, that knife isn't for anybody else. But he can't move.

"You seriously gonna take a stab, sweetheart?"

He chuckles, hands up, ready to disarm her.

She pauses to consider his challenge, testing the weight of the knife in her hand. Too soon, perhaps, and probably too messy. Not like she's ever used one to actually fight with before, even in self-defence.

"Not really my style."

And she slips the knife behind her belt before again going for his shin.

This time he knows he's ready for her. Which is why he reaches out to grab at her again and finds his hands grasping helplessly at nothing while one leg buckles beneath him and a sharp pain shudders through him.

What the Hell?! He knows exactly what he wants to do, and what he needs to do, but the chess board won't let him win.

Dean makes a mental note to learn how to play if he gets out of this.

"Jesus, you bitch," he spits at her, down on one knee, still surprised and frustrated by the realization that he can't win.

M!Spencer smirks down at him. "You say that like it's a bad thing. Besides, it's nothing personal - just doing what I was ordered to."

She leans in to shove him, hoping to knock him off-balance to give herself as much advantage as possible.

"Ordered to by who, the Psycho Sisters up there?" He nods up at Tweedledee and Tweedledum, his lips twisted in a strained smile.

Oh my God, I really can't move.

"Yeah, way to have a mind of you own," Dean smirks back, grunting as she shoves him and his shoulderblades hit the earth. He feels heavy, too heavy to fight back. Too heavy to pull his gun out of his jacket pocket.

M!Spencer glares at him, eyes narrowed. "It's called survival instinct, dumbass. Besides, I don't see you rebelling against them either."

Until now, this had been nothing more than playing the game; now it was personal. Luckily, Dean being prone meant she was able to aim a half-kick half-stamped-foot towards his groin area. After all, he already thought she was a bitch. Might as well prove him right while beating him.

"If I could, I'd be whooping your fashionista ass right now," Dean bites back, grinning.

And then she kicks him in the jewels.

Dean is pretty sure he's seeing stars, the pain is so intense. He blacks out.

M!Spencer just looks down at him, smirking to herself. "Promises, promises."

She moves to properly claim her spot, ready for the next encounter.

James watched that entire match while making some uncomfortable faces at the fighting. It seemed almost dirty since that Dean fellow couldn't do much to fight back, and it had been ended with a kick somewhere unpleasant.

Given the moves that have been made though, James isn't entirely surprised when he's called on to move into her square and take her down. He feels a little funny about fighting a girl, but she did just beat someone up in front of him, so he supposes it's not the worst match up he could have gotten.

...And then he realizes who he's staring at - it's that girl Spencer, from over the network. Except that no, it's obviously not - it must be that mirror she had spoken so ill of before. He blinks for a second, and then grins at his own good luck.

"Well," he chuckles a little, sliding smoothly over into her square. "I know someone on my side who's going to be happy to see you lose today. I've heard a little bit about you."

Cut away! (Move 16 - Mirror Spencer is captured)

M!Spencer had barely had time to catch her breath as Dean vanished from the board before someone moved to the square she had only just claimed.

"You have got to be kidding me."

She rolls her eyes at this new guy's opening gambit. "Because she's really the best person to ask about what I'm like. She's never spoken to me, of course, but don't let that put you off."

Her hand moves to check the knife's still there. No point giving this one an easy fight.

Move 16 - Mirror Spencer is captured

"I'll do my best not to," he says honestly. "I'd much rather find out for myself, not that there's really time for it now."

Not that he distrusts the real Spencer - really, he has a gut instinct that she's probably right about her mirror, but it doesn't change the fact that he'd like to get his own opinion on the matter. He's just naturally curious like that.

"It's a shame we've got to fight," he adds, pulling out his wand and twirling it in his fingers. "Who knows when we'll get another chance to meet? I could be stuck with the second-hand opinion of you forever."
