The day had been terrible. First, every piece of clothing that Akihiko owned in his closet thought it would be fun to glue to him. Then he gave all of his friends some of his static cling, and a few unlucky people got an electrifying wake up call if he moved his arm in just the right way. When things had finally seemed to calm down, his notebook -- he couldn't remember if it was for writing, history, or something else -- was taken from him by Ms. Brennan and the teacher thoroughly embarrassed him in front of the class.

Hopefully they could get it back without problems. Akihiko had renewed determination once the day was over and his assignments completed. He wore a long sleeved school-issued sweatshirt over top of a dark t-shirt, along with his black slacks.

"How far are we? We've been attending this school for years, you'd think I could find the teachers' lounge blindfolded."

Mitsuru was not pleased with any of this, everything seemed to be going wrong somehow and she couldn't explain any of it. Perhaps, that was the worst part, not being able to explain it all. She'd accidentally frozen her tea at breakfast, then she'd frozen her lock while she was trying to get to her books, and she was quite certain a few unlucky people had gotten frostbite due to her. Now, to top all of that off, Akihiko had his notebook taken away by Ms. Brennan and somehow she'd found herself agreeing to accompany them on a mission to recover it.

She still wasn't sure what she was thinking. She'd packed a flashlight, just in case, and had her hair tied up tightly in a bun so that it wouldn't get in the way of their break-in. It was strange, but she actually found herself feeling cold, so she'd changed out of her skirt and into a pair of black pants and a sweater before meeting the others. Hopefully they'd be able to get it back.

"I believe we're close, it couldn't possibly be far." She looked around. "It's strange being here when ( ... )

Shinjiro wasn't looking forward to the covert operation, but he wasn't about to let his friends sneak in without him, either. All day he'd had to play it safe. He'd crushed his glass of orange juice into sticky, wet dust that morning, pulled his closet door off its hinges getting ready for class, and broken off the plunger on the toilet during a break between classes.

To say he'd been in a bad mood all day was an understatement, so to hear that Ms. Brennan had stolen Akihiko's notebook for no reason at the end of that day had been the last straw. He'd never liked Ms. Brennan anyway.

He'd changed out of his uniform and into his dark pants and turtleneck with his beanie as soon as he'd been able to, and he had his hands shoved in his pockets even now.

"We'll get it and we'll get out. It ain't much different from other stuff we've done."

Although she had been in the dormitory studying when the power went out, Rei quickly made her way to the school building to make sure that there was nothing happening there that shouldn't be. Because of the late hour, her hair isn't styled as befits a member of the Disciplinary Committee, but she's sure the chairman would forgive her as long as she does her duty.

With a flashlight in hand, she begins to patrol the school's hallways, listening for any sound that strikes her as out of place. She hasn't turned the flashlight on yet, letting her eyes adjust to the dark instead. It's there to be used as a weapon more than for illumination.

Minato had made his way out of the Teachers' Lounge after the lights had been shot. It suddenly had become pitch black, and he hadn't prepared on bringing a flashlight of any kind, not having anticipated the power outage. He knew the school well, but perhaps maybe not well enough to navigate the place in the dark.

He stayed close to the wall of the hallway, feeling his way past doorknobs and bulletin boards to see if he could get back out. Where had the others gone, he wasn't sure and couldn't see.

Rei hears someone approaching and pauses, trying to make out a figure in the dark. When the other person is close enough, she raises he flashlight and flicks it on, which should have the double effect of identifying the intruder and blinding him.

"Minato-kun."
