In the Summa Theologiæ, St. Thomas Aquinas wrote:

"...those who are attacked, should be attacked
because they deserve it on account of some fault."

Look at this man. His beautiful, baby brown eyes are staring straight into your sin, Izaya.

There are three seconds in which to react.

One. Shizuo is sitting there, being his peaceful self. He's a little antsy about not having a smoke, but he'll survive. It was his first event. He'd been warned about them. Like hell he was going to crack. Just sit it out. It's got to end sometime or another, and Shizuo was a patient man.

Two. The door opens. It's Izaya.

Two and one half. Shizuo's standing, tearing a bolted down bed out of the floor.

Three. That bed is now flying at Izaya's face.

Ohhh Aquinas, you and your 5 arguments are dirty dirty liars. You can't possibly be seeing any of Izaya right now, nor even his sin.

Not when there's a bed in the way.

On the one hand, it does effectively keep the door closed and any violently crazy patients from escaping. On the other, Izaya did just take a bed to the face.

It's practically a miracle he emerges from that wreckage, but the blame can lay on the fact this is a healing institution. Because that's what happens when you have a legitimate healing institution. Miracles.

"How the hell did you just manage that?" There's more spoken curiosity and less scornful 'YOUJUSTTHREWACRAPPYPATIENTBEDATMYFACE'
