Other than her room, the only place Poniko really liked being in the mansion was the library. It was quiet there, and well lit. And no one cooked burgers and made horrible messes there.
She had recently finished reading several books about dreams and dream interpretation, but they hadn't given her much insight, so she had decided to abandon the topic. Now she was curious about food.
Her wanderings brought her over to the shelves near Yujinn, but other than a cursory glance at him, the blonde didn't pay much attention to him. She had little interest in other people unless they had something interesting to offer her.
Poniko had no time to really react as the room went abruptly dark. There was just an instant of panic before the change took place.
A low, hollow noise filled the air, like someone screaming a long ways off, and the air itself turned heavy and oppressive. Nearly tangible waves of despair and hopelessness radiated from the spot where Poniko had been standing, but she wasn't there anymore. The thing that's replaced her is black and white and monstrous.
Yujinn shivered, bringing his head up in shock at the strange feeling.
And then he saw it, and his heart went cold.
At first, there was very little reaction at all, he simply failed to move, or even change his expression.
And then the despair came, and hopelessness, and emptiness. He slowly drew his legs up into the chair, putting his face down and wrapping his arms around them. He trembled, but couldn't run.

He put his hands together, repeating the spell under his breath.
... And then the lights went out... crap.
