Sam approached the girl casually enough, thinking that she didn't look quite as disarming as he would have thought. Still, when she asked him if he had named "it" and gestured downwards, Sam's initial reaction was to simply blink down at her, aghast.

Finally looking down as though having forgotten that he had held anything at all in his hands, he held up the makeshift weapon and asked, "This? Uh, I didn't know that was a custom around here. I just found it lying around and don't think I'm going to have much in the way of an intelligent discourse with it."
