Kite knew the whole event was unavoidable. That was how the mansion worked, it did things to you no matter how hard you tried to avoid it.

But, of course, the three of them were still going to blame themselves for the whole thing somehow. That was just how they were.

Kite just floated in his little corner, staring at the wall blankly. After midnight, his memories had come back, along with the memories he had gained during the day before. He remember not remembering anyone or anything. It was... unpleasant. That was the word he settled on in the end. 'Unpleasant'.

He didn't like not knowing his friends. He didn't like not knowing Beast Boy, or Linda, or anyone... He just didn't like not knowing. Just the thought of being in an unknown location with no memory of himself or his purpose scared the AI. He needed a purpose, and he needed to know his purpose. At least when he and Elk couldn't understand eachother they still knew to look for eachother. At least when he was a fairy he still knew how to get help. Even when the zombies came ( ... )

Beast Boy had taken it upon himself to always be the one to cheer everyone up, to be the one to remain happy when others were down. At the moment, it was proving to be a little hard. He kept fidgeting on his his bed, doing his best to keep his mind off the utter silence. One reason why the hero was so mouthy--he hated silence.

Still, his friends' responses weren't much better than quiet.

"So, uh." He crouched on his bed. He shifted around, fidgeted. Beast Boy tried to find the right words to say, but it was like trying to catch a magnolia blossom: so many to catch all at once that you get disoriented and end up empty handed ( ... )
