Death couldn't blame James for being angry at her. It was rare for anybody to be happy to see her. They knew who she was, and what she was responsible for. Bound by no rules, she would go wherever she was needed. Whether it was for work, or something else.

She let herself in the room, and saw James holding a small fishbowl.

"Hey there."

Of course, she already knew what had happened. After all, Death wouldn't be good at her job if she didn't.

The blond man jerks at the voice behind him, turning hesitantly and looking over his shoulder. Oh. She-

Death. Didi. Right. He had agreed to let her see his goldfish.

"Hi." He feels a bit awkward, as usual, still holding the regrettable glass bowl.

"You ah- you're a little late. I'm sorry..." He's not entirely sure what he's apologizing for. After all, if she is indeed, Death, as she says, then she should already be aware of the fact that his fish is no more.

The thought crosses his mind but he seems to just ignore it, much like everything else lately.

He sets the bowl on the table and extends a hand.

"I'm James. I mean- you know that, but- ah-" He shrugs, "Formal greetings, you know."
