How long had it been since that weird explosion? A day? A week? A month? A year? Forever? However long it had been, Linda was exhausted. She had been up and down, left and right, there and back, side and forward, all over the mansion, twice, three times, millions of times. It left very little time for sleep or much else. She was tired, she had to admit it. Very, very, very tired ( ... )

Since Beast Boy's disappearance, Kite hadn't been entirely sure what to do. Searching the halls endlessly for a signal that wasn't there worked well for awhile, but with day after day of no success it just depressed him more. Giving up wasn't much of an option either, because that would be giving up on his friend. So, the logical solution was to just do nothing at all, and that worked for awhile, too.

He had to make himself rescan the mansion at least five times before he believed the data himself. After a week of non-stop searching, there it was, Beast Boy's signal blipping cheerfully at him on his map.

Seconds after Linda ran into the green shapeshifter, a blue orb fell down through the ceiling, exploding into a blaze of fire as the AI made a beeline to his friend (still kind of on fire, try not to burn yourself).

His cheerful humming stopped, and he smiled at the sound of the familiar voices. Linda and Kite! Beast Boy had really missed them, and just knowing they were safe was enough to push any thoughts of the mirror's threats away.

Looking up he saw his two friends making a bee-line towards him. (Well, a straight line. Bees kinda do a weird dance thing...) "KITE! LINDA! You guys--"

...they were coming at him pretty fast. Were. Were they planning on slowing down? And was Kite on fire?!

“BEAST BOY!” Linda was near hysterics by this point. Sometime between noticing Beast Boy and running up to hug him, tears had begun to stream down her face.

“Beast Boy! Beast Boy! I thought you had exploded and like, died or something and like, I was so freaked out, but there wasn’t any blood, so then people were like, “Ohmigosh he totally left,” but you couldn’t have because you would have told us, right? and then Kite said that you’d come back and stuff, and Kite-- KITE HE’S HERE HE’S HERE HE’S HERE HE CAME BACK HE CAME BACK HE CAME BACK! I totally didn’t know if you would and I was so, so totally worried, so worried and I couldn’t sleep because…,” her incoherent babble meandered on and on and on and on as she clung to Beast Boy and sobbed uncontrollably.

Why yes, Kite was on fire. Fortunately for Beast Boy, most of the flames had put themselves out by the time Kite reached him. Now he just got an almost uncomfortably warm hug from the AI--whether or not the combined impact from the two of them knocked the hero over didn't really matter to him at this point. If Kite had been capable of crying, he probably would have been at this point. Instead, he just settled for holding onto Beast Boy as tightly as possible in case he tried to explode again.

"Where were you?!" he demanded, a mixture of anger, happiness and sadness in his voice. "You just vanished, everyone was really worried and-- and we thought you had left, but I knew you'd come back, but I guess I didn't really, but you came back anyway! So..." He paused to catch his breath, sighing quietly into BB's shoulder.

"...And what the hell happened to you?!" He let go a little to stare accusingly at the gaping hole in his side, not to mention the torn clothes, the scratches across his face, the complete lack of shoes... "Beast Boy, are ( ... )
