Are you buying your caterpillars and raising them?
That chrysalis is amazing--I've never seen one of them before. Thanks for sharing!

Nope, I'm just providing the host plants and the butterflies are happy to drop in and lay their eggs. Here in Florida, passionvine is a great plant to have--the flowers are amazing, but the vine itself is a host plant for several species of butterflies, including this one. I'm proud because I've always wanted to have a good butterfly garden, and it's finally there--most days lately that I walk outside there are a couple dozen butterflies hanging around! Thanks! I'd never really seen one of these as a chrysalis and was really struck by the shiny metallic patches and other decorations. :)
