Sakura Trees and Absinthe

The cherry blossoms are blooming here in Morioka. I went to see the famous Rock-Splitting Cherry Tree in front of the Morioka Courthouse on Saturday with a Japanese friend, then we walked around Iwate Park and saw the cherry trees there. Sorry dear, but you haven't had true absinthe yet, the real stuff doesn't taste like peppermint, true absinthe is so bitter you have to pour it into the glass letting it go through a slotted spoon with sugar cubes in it to sweeten it. The absinthe you had was imitation, weak, wasn't aged long enough so the wormwood could truly release into the alcohol, you see, b/c the wormwood is what makes it so bitter. I read too much into absinthe, you know? Must be my relentless quest for information........Laters, Lady Une
