Really, it was just Bones. Why should one really hot night and a hella lot of ship-related stress change the epic Kirk-McCoy dynamic that had kept them thriving at the Academy? It probably had a whole lot to do with growing up and all that panicking and... Oh, to hell with it ( Read more... )

The day before had been another wonderful day in the life of Public Enemy McCoy. People were still giving him the hairy eyeball over the Fake Out. Christine was practically an assassin, daggers shooting from her eyes sharp enough to kill at a glance. Leonard had laid low as much as possible, but he was the damn CMO. Couldn't really afford to hide from everyone indefinitely. So he'd taken the day before yesterday off to let things cool. Yesterday it'd been business as usual. If usual had ever been stilted conversation and cold tones in such a hotbed of gossip as Sickbay ( ... )

"Mmhm." That was Jim, all right. And Jim is now more or less pouncing his way onto the bed, half covering Bones in the process. Surely acknowledgement of presence was as good as an invitation for their regular old snuggling routine, right? Well, he could only hope. "Hi, Bones," he said, voice less urgent now as he snuggled up.

He'd been about to ask what was up. Then he found out. Apparently Jim, as he took a flying monkey leap onto him and bed. "Sweet Jeez!" he had just enough time to get out before it was necessary to exclaim, "Ooof!" Them and bed bounced in a way he wasn't sure all was meant to bounce, then he looked up into blue eyes bright enough that even the dark couldn't subdue. His own green-browns blinked back, watched as the man settled in on him, then turned upwards with a corner of his mouth. "Jim, there is somethin' called a door comm, ya know?"

Still, he slid an arm around the man's shoulders and fussed a bit with the blankets. "If yer gonna lay with-," he was interrupted by another mighty yawn, "- me, least get yerself under the covers. Y'know I hate bein' trapped under sheets."

Jim shrugged and gave a few little wiggles to get under the blankets with Bones. It wasn't exactly easy, when he'd already pinned them between the doctor and himself. But it was worth it. "Thanks, Bon-- Wait." There was the issue of pants. In general, Jim found them a little overrated. In bed, when he hadn't thought to wear sleep appropriate pants to break into Bones' room, they were just a massive hassle.

"I need to strip a bit first." This just lead to more wiggling as he fought to get his pants off and on the floor without getting too far away from Bones. When he was finally down to his boxers, though, he continued his route under covers.
