Christy/ine's Quarters-Day 47-Late Night (Private)

Sep 14, 2010 01:50

Donnie had been pacing in front of Nurse Chapel's door for five minutes. His hand was jittery as he held the container making a shkshkshk sound from the multicolored candy sprinkles inside. He didn't even know if she'd remember why the sprinkles mattered. She probably wouldn't get the reference at all.

Donnie had also been muttering to himself. He ( Read more... )

Christine was just finishing washing her hair when there was a knock at her door. Bundling her hair up in a towel, she moved to open it, only to flinch when whoever was there chimed. Okay, okay, she was coming already.

And then that someone knocked again. "I'm coming!" she said loudly, voice shrill as she finished crossing to her door and hit the button at the side panel to open it up, revealing...

"Oh. Hello, Donnie."

Oh shit. This wasn't a situation he'd factored into his outline. His eyes widened as he stared at her nightie. His neck turned bright red. He'd whipped the sprinkles behind his back as she opened her door. They now succumbed to gravity and made a loud SHK! as they hit the ground. Luckily the container didn't open. That would have been worse. Not by much.

He flinched as the container hit and turned around quickly to pick it up. He turned back and Christy was still in a nightie.

"I have...a memento that is...representing..." he failed at verbal communication and shoved the sprinkle tube at her. "Can I come in?" A beat. "To your quarters?" Another beat. "To...socialize?"

Tilting her head, she took the container, looking confused at him first and then it. Oh, sprinkles. She liked those. But why was he-- Ah, that would be the key there, wouldn't it? Donnie was, in fact a male, despite being a close platonic friend, and she was in a nightie designed to show off her shoulders and legs and care very little about what was in between.

"Yes, please do," Christine said, tilting her head this time towards her couch. "And I'm going to go put on proper socializing clothing." Or at least a robe.

"Thank you," Donnie replied. More to the latter offer than the couch. Though he did sit heavily on the proffered couch staring miserably at the sprinkle container as she left. She didn't remember. It was stupid anyway, Donnie thought as he put the sprinkles on the coffee table.

He pinched the bridge of his nose. This was a bad idea. He rubbed his leg and straightened up sighing and waiting for her to return.
