There was something immensely satisfying about using a punching bag. Shane shot her fist forward as the equipment flew back towards her, and knocked it away with another resounding TWAK. Indeed, exercise always seemed to be a great way to blow off steam

She blushed involutarily as that conversation went through her head. That had been awkward. But Donnie was a good guy, and one of the few people she actually knew on the ship. She wanted to become friendlier, and possibly more comfortable with him. So she waved back.
"Um, hello doc- Uh, I mean, Donnie." She stuttered horribly. Slipping back into her habit of addressing everyone formally would do no good if she wanted to be friends with him.

"That's okay. Some people like that. I-I still have that document on dealing with superiors if you have your pad. Uh...Shaye right?"
He reached to lean on the bag in a relaxed way but his hand got a few inches from it and thought better of the action adopting a casual crossing of the arms instead, furrowing his brows, concentrating on the conversation.
He waved his hand about as he continued.
"I--um--I did some punching a couple of days ago actually." He nodded then frowned. "At least, I think it was punching. I'm not--not really that good at it. I'm-I'm pretty sure that the bag won. It doesn't have arms OR legs so...uh, anyway. I don't know where I was going with that. H-how have you been?"

The fact that he hadn't gotten her name right didn't really bother her. Heck, seeing as he was the closest thing she had to a friend at the moment, it could technically be seen as a nickname. Kinda.
"I'm uh, I'm doing alright," she managed. She clapsed her hands behind her back to prevent them from figiting, "J-just felt like a bit of exercise..."
Shane attepted to meet Donnie's eyes, but somehow missed and settled with staring at his left eyebrow. It was the closest she could manage at the moment. "How a-are you?"
