As Cain sat in his laboratory, he was acutely aware of a sort of tunnel vision effect that began around the edges of his vision. This would not be terribly abnormal but for the fact that when he looked at the object that seemed to be warping, it stayed warped, just slightly. Upon entering the place of science, her aura, indicated more through her shortness of breath then anything, is one of panic and fear. Afraid of a repeat performance of the last time Cain was in a bad spot, Victoria can't help but shout as her mind struggles to find words to convey her emotional state. "Cain! I came as soon as I saw your message, whats going on here?!"

"Victoria, put your hand on my heart. Is my heart beating at all? My heart is not beating at all. Yet I am speaking to you, I am moving and breathing, yet here I am alive and perhaps going mad, but my heart has stopped beating."
He reached out with both arms for his doll girl.

Cain shook his head. "And yet how...?" he said, swooning a bit. The warping was getting worse, bad enough that even Victoria might notice it now. At this rate, the very body she wore might start twisting and bending. He did not understand it, not at all.
"It might be dangerous for you to be around me," he said in a low voice, strangely calm for the lack of heartbeat he'd discovered. "Something is going on, something I cannot explain, but things around me are changing shape and I do not--" he said, but cut himself off quickly.
"...the reality device... that must be it..." he half-whispered. "It started after we rescued the boy..."
