The best way to get the read of a new station was to wander around until at least some areas managed to make sense. It had worked for him back on Omega, and, slowly but surely, it was working for him here. That's when he came across a workshop, for lack of a better word, and decided to see what sort of equipment they had.

That's when he came across Protoman and his brain formed a direct connection to his mouth. "Kirrahe? Function over form matches. No, no organics in range. Not watching test?"

He refocused his attention from hoping to see a familiar face to determining the nature of the test. He couldn't say he recognized the android body. "New geth platform? Built in weapons. Retains mobility. Structure inconsistent. Not an option. Organic/synthetic hybrid?"

Time to take note of the various displays around the body. "Synthetic confirmed. Nothing on organic. Mech or AI?"

Protoman was aware of Solus' presence, despite the fact that his helmet had sealed itself - that was part of the diagnostic procedure. He couldn't use his active sensors during the creature's examination of the workshop, as they were currently being tested by one of the jury-rigged diagnostic terminals, but the passive sensors were still online.

When he spoke, though, his voice sounded strangely monotone - at least, it would to anyone who knew what his voice normally sounded like.

"This system is currently undergoing level one diagnostics. Please step away from the diagnostic equipment until all tests have been completed."

"Awareness. Monotone. Geth. Legion? Similar?" He was no longer talking to Protoman but more vocalizing his thoughts. It was how he always operated.

Briefly, he considered hacking into the diagnostic equipment to gain access outside of whatever sensors were detecting him, but stopped. A hostile platform of unknown capability wasn't a favorable outcome for data.

Not to say that it was guaranteed to be peaceful.

The man-machine didn't react to Solus' commentary, but there was one particular screen - and a particularly small one, easy to overlook - that didn't seem to carry any diagnostic data upon it.

Instead, it displayed a wireframe model of Protoman, with certain elements highlighted in red and a small inset that seemed to flick between subsystems in whatever particular area was currently being tested.

The most intriguing part of this display, though, was the text heading the display:

UNIT DLN-000 - "PROTOMAN"

Ai was... well, storing a box of stuff that is only just useful enough that it needed to be stored for future use. She paused, seeing that the room she was about to enter was in use. "I'm sorry. I didn't realize anyone was around."

Protoman was aware of this second person's presence, but - as he was currently engaged in a diagnostic routine - he showed no evidence of it.

It should be safe to store those boxes in here, so long as you don't interfere with the jury-rigged systems.

Ai found a spot for the boxes. She knew enough about jury-rigging, thanks to the Toybox -- and living on this station -- that she was careful to not touch anything. "I'm going to leave these things here. If it's a problem, just find me later, all right?"

Lain had simply been poking around the parts of the station she had not yet explored. As it happened, the robotics workshop had an interesting flow of information located upon it's part of the network. Stepping in, she takes a second to look over the machines and computers spread throughout the room, seemingly ignoring Protoman for the time being.

"I think I could improve upon this design with the right parts..." She said to no one in particular.

The computers were busy running the diagnostic programs that had loaded onto them, programs which were currently testing Protoman's own assorted subsystems.

Perhaps the systems could be improved, but right now they were occupied - and a monotone voice advised of that fact.

"This unit is currently undergoing level one diagnostics. Please wait until the diagnostics are complete before attempting any modifications or repairs."

Lain's intrigue is perked at the computers emotionless words. She was always interested in such things and could never leave any stone unturned when it came to technology.

"What is being scanned?" She said, questioning the ether.

The answer to that question was short and to the point.

"Unit DLN-000."
