Life and Death in Orange County

Radio Ronin's entry reminded me a bit of my weekend, which I'll share here. Tim's grandmother was not well, i.e. seriously on her way out, and yesterday was her 92nd birthday. Wow, that's really awesome! I'm a big fan of the boisterous wake concept; Courtney's father's memorial service ended at his daughter's bar, where he spent most evenings. When a life is well-lived, there should always be some celebration at the end.

What sort of shocked me about the wedding was how I feel I'm always hearing stories about people who held on just for that last thing they wanted to see happen -- the graduation, the birthday, the reunion. But I can't imagine her mom wouldn't have given anything to be at the wedding, so I guess that 'holding on' superstition doesn't always hold true.
