I experience this phenomenon when I'm listening to classical music where my first exposure to a performance of a given piece seems to be the best one.  It really leads me to question what exactly my taste in music amounts to.  On the other hand, there are consistencies in what I find satisfying in the first performance that might be missing from ( Read more... )
