It does! I did my performance at the Dovercourt in heals this saturday and I was so much happier with my dancing than I was in all the practices in flats!
I thought about this, and I think that the way the heels literally keep me on my toes actually helps with my technique. For example, when I do a back-step, my weight doesn't get thrown back as far as if I were to put down my heel, so it keeps me responsive to changes in direction.
