From that list I read: 01. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Lewis Carrol (HORRIBLE. I hated the book. No idea why it's a "classic".)
04. Twilight Saga #3: Eclipse, Stephenie Meyer (the entire series suck. This was also one of the suckiest if not THE suckiest lol)
12. Dracula, Bram Stoker (Liked it though I don't like books written in "letter format")
16. Southern Vampire #1: Dead Until Dark, Charlaine Harris (Read the all the books released so far in portuguese. Love the series)
I don't really know what to recomend as you've read A LOT of these kinds of books. The best book I read in 2010 was probably "O Homem do Castelo Alto". It's basic alternative history with the premiss: what if Germany had won WW2? It's pretty amazing and well writen. So that one I recomend ;)
01 and 04 were read for the same reason... I don't like to watch movies based on books, before reading the book. I was so excited for Tim Burton's Alice - the movie at least didn't disappoint too much. Eclipse I didn't even go watch it...
I used to read "diary" style books back when I was.. 12? Nowadays I don't like them anymore, but I'm trying to read a few "classics" a year and I suppose the better classics to start are those which were turned into musicals! *lol*
I have the other Sookie books on my to be read list. I think you should try the Mercy Thompson ones if you love Sookie. The same portuguese editor has released the 2 series, though I've read Sookie in portuguese but Mercy in english, so I don't know how well the translation works.
Will look into O Homem do Castelo Alto. And... I finally got a copy of Rebecca!
Ah, I was disapointed by Tim Burton's Alice. It clearly had too much Disney censorship in it. Eclipse was awfull, I had to watch it 'cause of my sister. It was the first time I started to yawn at the movies lol
Although I read Dracula before, yeah, the same happened to me with books like Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel or The Woman in White =P Though I generaly end up prefering the plots in the musicals for some weird reason XD
Ah...I've read the first chapter of O Apelo da Lua...have to say, didn't liked it that much. I'm not very fond of werewolfs. Actually I have some problems with a couple of books on the True Blood series because of that. I prefer Vampires=P Oh and I don't like Sookie herself. She's a shameless whore. But I quite like the other characters so...=P
Finally! Now go read it!;D By now I have 2 copies of Rebecca already =P (One by Livros do Brasil and another one by Presença lol.)
I liked Alice, but didn't LOVE it like I could have...
Regarding Briggs's Moon Called (I'm sorry, I hate the portuguese title, makes me think about some kind of wiccan/cult stuff...) I can promise you book 2 (Blood Bound) is very much about vampires! ;)
