It had never really occurred to Neku that, perhaps, that Chrono would not have known what headphones were. It should have, however, since the other boy had clearly not even known what computers were. But, then, Neku was never really one to stop and think... It hadn't mattered now, he supposed, since he was already waiting in the all to familiar lobby.

It had been a while since he had gotten out of the hotel, let alone seen anyone. He had been cramped up in his room since he had woken up, which could have only been a few days ago. Maybe a week? It was hard to keep time in a timeless sort of place. Still, it felt nice to finally be able to get out. Even if he was helping a complete stranger.

Which was a very rare occurrence for him.

But when he had talked to Chrono for the first time and, then again, the second time, for some reason he was reminded of Shiki's words of wisdom, "Sometimes, someone just needs someone to talk to. It makes all the difference." He wasn't entirely sure why he felt compelled to help Chrono but perhaps it

Chrono returned the smile, briefly. "I don't think I told you mine either. I'm Chrono." He raised a hand in greeting as well, relieved he'd found the person he was supposed to meet.

"It's uh... nice to meet you..." Neku was never really one for formality. Or polite manners. It always felt strange whenever he said something like that. Perhaps because he never really made friends.

"I would have thought you were older." he blinked, studying Chrono once more. "At least older than me any ways." he offered another smile, bigger this time, and more relaxed.

Chrono had to fight to keep a straight face at that, and wondered if he dared say "I'm actually older than your grandfather."
