WHO: Neku {mrbritesyde}, Near {a_different_toy}
WHERE: The lobby.
WHEN: After curfew.
SUMMARY: Teh dramaaaa. It's only been one day since Shiki has in the hotel and already, tension has risen in the Neku and Near's relationship. They bump into each other after Neku is finished tagging a wall on the rooftop and Near can't sleep.
RATING: PG

He can't sleep. He can't stop thinking, about Neku, his actions, his feelings. Usually he dismissed such things, they were never on his mind for long, they shouldn't be. Neku was always different though, things happened to the both of them that couldn't exactly be stopped, that he didn't want to stop anytime soon. For one second Near sighs, going over all his thoughts and frowned mentally as he realized he sounded like an idiot.Besides, it was normal for Near to not fall asleep. This hotel definitely didn't make him feel like himself, Neku didn't make him feel like himself. He shouldn't feel like this at all, instead he walks down the stairs for once. He never walks the stairs, much less got out of his room but--he twirls his hair as he looks down at the lobby--something needed a change ( ... )

Neku crossed his arms tightly over his chest, in his usual fashion, but somehow it just seemed more strained. As if he were trying to keep himself from falling apart or, perhaps, running off. He wanted to see Near yet he didn't know what to say. Or what to do. Why did it feel so awkward between them? What had happened? Why should it be this way, any way?

Their relationship should have never been. But, that didn't stop him from plunging headlong into it. Because he wanted it. Even if he shouldn't have. He wanted it and he still wanted it. He liked being with Near. It felt different from any other relationship he had ever been in and it felt nice. Near made him feel.. as if the human race was actually somewhat likable. And that wasn't easy for Neku to actually like someone.

"I can't sleep either..." was all he said, keeping his eyes fixed to the ground, afraid to look up and see Near's face.

Near nods to himself, pushing all thoughts out of his head as he glanced back at Neku. He looks down though, eyes blank and dazed as he steps just a bit further from him. "...I'm sorry." He said in a soft voice, still blank but considerably soft...enough to care maybe. Near tries to meet Neku's eyes but he's not looking at him, that's okay though, nothing could be blamed on him really.

Near was the one who said things on impulse (even if Neku started it). Near was the one who said he would go to bed (Neku has to be a drama queen though). On top of that Near was the one who started this whole relationship to begin with (Neku doesn't let him be rational). He looks down at the ground with some emotion in his eyes, he was being selfish, childish, things that probably only Neku could see but--

"You're not occupying yourself well enough?" He still asks in a calm voice, thoughts stopping and a voice just speaking. "Neither am I, I'm getting bored in my room." He speaks without any emotion, as if Neku was supposed to get something ( ... )

Neku laced his fingers together then unlaced him, feeling Near's eyes bore into him but not meeting his gaze. The bottom half of his face disappeared into his turtle-neck, feeling much like a turtle with the sudden urge of wanting to hide. Or run. But he was stuck, his feet wouldn't move, it felt as if they were glued to the floor. Or perhaps he was just too stubborn to leave. Or maybe he missed Near, even if it had ( ... )
