Women's Suffrage

Suffrage -- It sounds horrible, doesn't it? The word, I mean.  Like someone suffering.  And why would anyone want to fight for that?

My concern about this argument--as someone who is hypersensitive to women's equality issues by virtue of my own mother's experiences in the building industry while I was growing up--is that by placing an additional barrier on a woman who rises to being an election away from the executive of the United States, effectively disqualifying her because her policies are not those of the Democratic Party, you are engaging in sexism yourself ( ... )

If a man had similar education and experience as Palin, yes, I would find him *extremely* unqualified to be President. Take our current President for example. He was and is highly unqualified to lead this country. Palin, I'm afraid, reminds me very much of W.

Yes, I disagree with Palin's politics. Among other things, she is against abortion, even in the case of rape & incest. She plays hard to the extreme right. And yes, I find that extremely frightening. But, even more frightening is that a person (whether male or female) with so little education and so little life experience beyond her family and the teeny-weeny town of which she was mayor, could soon be in a position to screw this country up further in the eyes of our foreign friends and enemies, not to mention sink us further into economic ruin.

I support your opinion of Sarah Palin, totally not qualified to be in higher office. Under prepared and no experience along with over compensating for her total lack of the skills needed for one of highest offices in the US government. John McCain has no respect for women and his comments about Palin being the answer to womans suffrage is total wrong and a major insult to every women. She deserves to be multiple stories below the glass ceiling.

Would this argument be made if Governor Palin was a liberal Democrat running as VP to Senator Obama?

Yes, I would be deeply saddened and disenfranchised if Obama made such a poor choice as his running mate ( ... )
