Duckpin Bowling

Last night I met some friends for bowling. When I got there I found out that it wasn't ten-pin bowling - or "big ball bowling" as they call it - it was duckpin bowling.

Duckpin bowling is popular around here, and I've heard people talk about it for years, but I'd never been ('til last night, that is)...

We call it Candlepin bowling in Mass.

I thought candlepin was different than duckpin... (Based solely on my research via Wikipedia - here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candlepin_bowling)

I assumed its because the pins look like candles instead of like ducks...
*confused look* hmmm, the pins never really do look like ducks...
