You are absolutely right.

Just get in the first week; some people will drop as soon as they see the syllabus.

Just show up the first day of class, and they'll usually let you in. Most of the time 4-5 people don't show.

yep. and so i emailed march and told him that and told him that my other advisor kinda messed me up, HOPEFULLY he can help..hopefully he won't just end up hating my guts before he even really knows what i'm like.
hopefully he'll email me back!
