There's ask_me_anything here on lj, which has a few posts a day. Some of the members are kind of...jerks, I guess, but I've been a member there for years and it can be pretty amusing sometimes.

Oh, and little_details - those posts are very interesting, and some of the things people ask for information on there might give you inspiration for things to write about yourself.

I think you get out of LJ what you put in. My "people" exchanges are quite active -- I post, get responses, and respond to other people's posts and before you know it, conversation has happened. Better than on tumblr, where I tend to find myself either shouting in the void, simply reblogging stuff, or shaking my head. LJ also lacks the nastiness I see on tumblr (must be the pre-vetting of the f-list).

I've seen a number of people getting tired of tumblr's animosity, and coming back more to LJ. Let's make it a trend! Be_compromised was a very lively place before so many of us got a tumblr; I can't see any reason why it can't be so again. But we need to make it happen ourselves, and maybe poke some people into joining in.

Yeah. I love the pictures on Tumblr, but I kind of hate the vibes there. Every time I think I'll move in on Tumblr, I end up ignoring it again. I only got one really because of a friend, but...
