Noooooooo, don't get sick! *hugs* I know exactly what you mean about wanting someone to whine about and bounce your worries off (except your worries sound a lot more reasonable than mine usually are! Whenever I get sick in any sort of form or have some unexplained pain, my mind immediately goes to "It's probably cancer and I'm going to die.").

This regular flu you used to have sounds great (well, as much as diseases can be a good thing). I always get a slightly modified version of the London flu. Let's call it Berlin flu - it goes like this:

1 minor sore throat appearing out of nowhere in the afternoon
2 waking up unable to swallow, horrible sore throat that last for days
3 stuffed nose
4 sore throat goes away, I think I'm over it
5 sore throat make a sneaky surprise return and yells, "GOTCHA!"
6 really bad cough for two weeks

Urgh. Being sick sucks. *hugs you some more and sends virtual cold meds* I really hope you feel better soon.

Too late, I'm already sick! *clings to hugs* (It's been the week of "cough-cough-hack" so far, with the runny nose making its entrance yesterday.)

(And I took lots of natural vitamin C in the form of concentrated lemonade. From actual lemons. Doesn't seem to have made a difference.)

The Berlin flu sounds awful too. :( *hugs*

Oh, this is so unfair! Whenever I am ill (and that is very rare) I have a huge family running around me, terrorising me with vitamins, homemade chicken soup, pills and foot massages when all I want is being alone and suffer in peace. I really wish I could send them over. Get well soon!

Thank you!

And yeah, I'd love to take over some of the burden of an overfussy family! *g* (A foot massage would be very welcome now...)

Maybe the air pollution in a big city heightens the symptoms?

I've had a really bad sinus infection last spring and since then I try not to blow my nose at all and use medicine ('natural', plant based) and a nasal douche. And in combination those work really, really well. :)

Oh, what plant(s)? I've been taking echinacea, which is supposed to heighten immunity, and sometimes it helps stop the flu before it fully takes hold.

But when it gets this bad, I'm not quite sure what else to do than pills, pills, pills...

Remember not to go back to work until you actually feel well.
