I've seen Heroes 2x01! :D (And, unfortunately, thought about M., who watches it too; it was fun finding a Heroes fan though.) No time for in-depth thoughts, so only this: ( somewhat spoilery intelligent remark )
The crack possibility that crossed my mind for a second was that maybe Kensei is actually the blacksmith's daughter :) (But then the marriage issue becomes a little weird, I admit)
That's sort of like Nausicca and the Valley of the Wind, where the prophecy about the prince saving the village has actually been mistranslated and is really about a princess.
Not just yours, I've seen this suggested in other people's reviews, and I must admit I prefer it to the more boring "Hiro prods the gaijin into becoming the hero". :D (Though one should not neglect the classical "Hiro fixes the timeline by becoming Kensei himself". But the daughter would be more badass. ;) )
Squee for my friends who watched Eureka for Michael Shanks! ::sighs happily:: Yes, it was a chore but IT WAS SO WORTH IT. the biceps, omg. & the sweat & jeans, o my. ::dies::
I used to, but the season 1 finale finalised my decision about watching it or not. It wasn't even a debate, I just felt bored and uninterested anymore.
Hee, I had the same exact reaction. "Molly's got two daddies! Two lovely daddies! Yay!" :D Then I went on and imagined the family life, which was a bit weird but not at all unpleasant. Omg, Heroes, you spoil us so. Not least because of all the new plotlines that are rising with the new season. How are we going to wait for whole weeks between episodes?
But omg, I also have to ask the same -- You don't watch Eureka? What is wrong with you?! It's a brilliant show and I would've pegged you as someone who watched it. (Although, at least you watched the Michael Shanks episode. Which, you know, just about killed me dead because Christ, that man can be hot when he's sweaty and dirty. Guh. I'm also unbearably thrilled about the storyline with Nathan. Co-founding partners, sure. *snort*)
Eureka lost me after season 1. It was the season finale actually that did it, I'd been dithering before. What can I say, tv shows are like people, we click or we don't. ;)

Seems a great way to transition to uber-badass future Hiro.
The scenes in the copying office with Claire's Dad amused me too much.
