I'm pretty sure the baby goes through phases of development, and I don't mean in Piagetian stage theory terms. At any one time she seems to put her energy towards a suite of developments. When Nana was here in April, it was all kissing and waving and, most endearingly, saying "Mumma". In other words communicating with her world. Now she's got that

I just heard the news about Debra. I had lost touch with her as I'm not on Facebook so wasn't aware she was ill - how very dreadful. She was a wonderful person and the loss of her is tragic. I'm so, so sorry.

Sorry I didn't reply earlier - I forgot my password for Livejournal and there didn't seem to be enough happening here for me to make the effort to sort it out. Debra's death was very terrible and sad. Thanks for your kind wishes though, and glad you remember her fondly.
