I always make sure to refran from the lise at the place that is easy to be slippery. It's a no-brainer, really.

Interesting, English is mangled, but I do wonder about things.

"Please obey the instructions of local government when you dispose of this," are there places in Japan where you aren't allowed to simply toss a pair of used up house slippers?

In Japan, we sort all of our trash, and it all goes out on specific days. Burnable trash would be one day, cloth another day, PET bottles yet another day and so on. In the prefecture where I live, they're not so strict about it, but some places actually require you to use color-coded trash bags, and write your name on them when you take them out so they know if you tried to slip a pair of house slippers in on the wrong trash day.

Short answer? Yes.
