Making stuff exhaustion - more skull mask WIP

Oct 31, 2011 14:41

This is starting to make my eyes bleed...

I've been working on converting Nymphy's skull facemasks to TS3 and have so far managed to do 2. And there are another 3 to go but I just don't think I can manage it in time for halloween.

Anyway, take a look under the cut if you so wish.

You can use the smudge tool to bring part of the dark part around and under the eyes. That should be an easy method. Use a larger brush to get more of it moving at once.

And to make the nose darker, you can try the Burn tool and trying out the different options (Midtone, Highlight, or Shadow)

Thanks. I might give the smudge tool a go. And I might need the dodge tool for the nose. I actually need to work in photonegative for this as the white parts are what eventually shows colour in-game. Which is why I was thinking of the Liquify tool for the eye area, with a medium sized brush to push it out from the centre and without destroying Nymphy's beautiful work. Or maybe I need to work on Nymphy's original texture so I can see more detail and then make it into a negative...

In my workspace I have the mask negative layered over a TS3 face texture but it's still a bit imprecise as to what is going to land where on an actual face in-game. It's all a bit trial and error but I think I'm getting there :)

Ah, i forgot there's a negative layer. I guess smudge tool will make the edges too blurry. The liquify would probably work, but I haven't used that enough to suggest it xP I haven't done a mask or something with the face to imagine how it works, so Im not too much of a help xD
